The 5-Minute Desk Reset: A Movement Routine for Between Meetings

You don't need a gym break to undo four hours of sitting. You need five focused minutes and a routine you'll actually repeat.
Why five minutes is enough
The goal here isn't a workout — it's a reset. Short bouts of movement improve circulation, wake up the posterior chain, and reduce the accumulated tension that turns into a 5pm headache.
Anything you'll do consistently beats a perfect routine you'll skip. Five minutes, five times a day, is more useful than a heroic 45-minute session you dread.
The routine
Thirty seconds each: standing hip flexor stretch (each side), thoracic extensions over your chair back, chin tucks, band pull-aparts or arm circles, glute bridges on the floor, calf raises, and a slow walk to refill your water.
Breathe through your nose the whole time. If you can't, slow down. The point is parasympathetic recovery, not another sprint.

Make it stick
Anchor it to a calendar event you already have — the end of stand-up, the top of the hour, the moment your build kicks off. If it's a decision, you'll skip it. If it's automatic, you won't.
